Ashwini also worked as a costume designer in Kannada films.
Her husband Puneeth Rajkumar was a star of the Kannada film industry. Early in his career, Rajkumar even won the national award for “the best child artist” which was a testament to things to come. He was dubbed by fans as “Powerstar” featuring in hit films including Appu, Abhi, and Veera Kannadiga. In 2012, he debuted as a television presenter on the game show Kannadada Kotyadhipati which was a Kannada version of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire.
