Ezekiel Machogu is a Kenyan national and politician who has been appointed as the new cabinet secretary for Education by president William Ruto. If the appointment will be approved by the national assembly, he will take over the post after the outgoing cabinet secretary for education Professor Magoha.

Machogu hails from Kisii County in Kenya. In 1970, he attended Nduru High School for his O–Level Certificate. Following the completion of his studies, he went on to join Agoro Sare High School for his A Level Certificate in 1974. Following that, he joined the University of Nairobi to acquire a Bachelor of Arts between 1976 and 1979. In the mid of his studies, he secured a job at the Office of the President as a District Officer, and later from 1989 to 2008, still at the Office of the President, he was appointed District Commissioner.

He worked as a Senior Deputy Secretary for the Public Service Commission beginning 2008 to 2016. In 2017, he became part of the Kenya National Assembly as a Member of Parliament for Nyaribari Masaba Constituency. In the just concluded Kenyan elections of 2022, he vied for the governorship in Kisii county but did not manage to grasp the seat. He lost the seat to his close opponent Hon. Simba Arati. After losing and following the turn of events, he got appointed by President William Ruto as cabinet secretary for education on September 27, 2022, awaiting approval.
