Ikenna Ekwonna is a pharmaceutical salesman, from Nottingham, who was working alongside the vaccination company AstraZeneca during the pandemic. He worked in the supply chain giving out vital Covid vaccinations to the public. He is a contestant in season eight of the reality television show Love Island UK 2022. The show has 11 contestants five men and six women. The single contestants will spend their summer in a luxury Majorcan villa. The reality television show kicks off on Monday, June 6, 2022, on ITV2.

He is taking part in Love Island because he is only been in one past relationship but thinks he’s at the age where he could find someone. He says he will bring “spontaneity and excitement” to the villa, adding: “I’m not really shy to speak to people and I don’t really care too much about what people think.” He believes his appearance will help him win over the women in the villa, as he says: “Look at my height—I’m 6’ 5”. I don’t think there are that many people my height, with my complexion or my looks!”
He believes he’s single by choice, saying: “It’s also pretty hard to find good looking people out there who are my type and my age so Love Island will put me in a situation where there will be people like that and hopefully that will force me to settle down.”

He considers himself to be competitive, and says even though he doesn’t really “hold grudges,” he says: “if someone steps on my toes, I’m effectively allowed to do the same.” He says: “I would say I’m a slow burner but I would know instantly if that person was compatible with me, like instantly, off the first conversation.”
He is hoping that his good looks and brains will see him quickly become popular amongst the ladies on the show. He continued: “I’ve only been in one past relationship but now I think I’m at the age where I could find someone.” He also plans to spoil whichever lucky lady he secures in the villa. He said: “I took my ex on holiday for her birthday. “I was pretty young, maybe 19 or 20, and it was quite a lot of money to spend.”
