Jean Mosley Biography – Jean Mosley Wiki
Jean Mosley (nee Taylor) is a British national and the widow of the late Max Mosley who was a British racing driver, lawyer, and president of the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA), a non-profit association that represents the interests of motoring organizations and car users worldwide. Max, was the son of 1930s British fascist leader Sir Oswald Mosley. He was educated in France, Germany, and Britain before going on to attend university at Christ Church, Oxford, where he graduated with a degree in physics. He then changed to law and was called to the bar in 1964. In his teens and early twenties, Max was involved with his father’s post-war political party, the Union Movement (UM). He commented that the association of his surname with fascism stopped him from developing his interest in politics further, although he briefly worked for the Conservative Party in the early 1980s. He was the subject of Michael Shevloff’s 2020 biographical documentary Mosley Jean who introduced Max to motorsport.
He had no idea what to do career-wise upon finishing university. One day, though, Jean got two tickets for a Silverstone motor racing event – and Max was hooked. He was involved in Formula 2 for Brabham and Lotus before retiring in 1969. In 2008 he won a privacy case against the News of the World newspaper after it printed photos and published a video of his involvement in a sadomasochistic sex session. A Guardian article written about Max’s autobiography, Formula One and Beyond in 2015 said they were “still together” despite the case. Max had told the high court that he had practiced S&M for years, but that his wife knew nothing about it until she read about it in the News of the World.
