Joe E. Tata was an American television actor. He was known for his regular role (1990–2000) as Nat Bussichio, the owner and operator of the Peach Pit diner, in the television series Beverly Hills, 90210. He also reprised his role as Nat a few times in the spin-off 90210 at the start of its first season. Prior to that, he portrayed Private Neddick on No Time for Sergeants (1964–1965), and he appeared in the 1970s in 8 episodes of The Rockford Files.
He reprised the role of Nat Bussichio in 2008, appearing in three episodes of the CW reboot “90210,” starring Shenae Grimes-Beech, Tristan Mack Wilds, and AnnaLynne McCord. His last TV role was an appearance on the ABC Family sitcom “Mystery Girls,” starring Garth and Spelling, in 2014.

Tata was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease in 2018. He died on August 24, 2022, three weeks before his 86th birthday. His daughter, Kelly Tata, announced her father passed away on a GoFundMe page Thursday, August 25, 2022. She wrote, “I’m devastated to report that my father Joe E. Tata passed away peacefully on August 24, 2022. My father and I are forever grateful for the love and support of family, friends, and fans. I’m also especially grateful to Joanna Konjevod for caring for my father in his final years and allowing me to be there to hold his hand in his final moments. The remaining funds raised from this campaign will be donated to the Alzheimer’s Association. Please continue to keep us in your prayers as I grieve the loss of my best friend.”
Kelly created the page in October 2021 to help her father navigate his condition with Alzheimer’s disease, which she said he was diagnosed within 2018. Kelly said the remaining funds collected from the fundraiser will be donated to the nonprofit Alzheimer’s Association.
