Julie Pierce born Julie Patricia Landrum is an American interior designer and philanthropist. She is also known for being the wife of former basketball player Paul Pierce. She attended and went on to graduate from St. Louis, Missouri’s Parkway Central High School. She then joined and graduated from the Fashion Institute of Technology with a degree in fashion buying and merchandising. She had studied for two years. She then decided to go after interior design and studied it at the New York School of Interior Design, graduating with a BA in 2005. She proceeded to Rhode Island School of Design, undertaking her MFA in Furniture Design in 2007.
In 2009, she pioneered her business in interior design. She has worked both in public and private entities by decorating homes in Canada and the US. She has been able to work for politicians, people in the entertainment industry, and even sports personalities. She was among three design team members for ABC’s Extreme Makeover: Home Edition in 2010. Her collections are licensed since she has made partnerships with companies dealing with design. Her furniture and wallcoverings include; fine china for Pickard China, carpet for Stark, home fragrances for Agraria, framed decorative art for Soicher-Marin and Brunschwig & Fils among others. As a result of her exemplary work, she has earned titles such as; the Traditional Home list of the World’s Top 20 Interior Designers, a Traditional Home Top-20 Design Icon, and Elle Décor A-List Designer. In 2011, she was awarded the Elle Décor’s Vision Award, the Timeless Design Award from the Royal Oak Foundation in 2012, and the 2013 Circle of Excellence Award in Interior Design from the International Furnishings & Design Association (IFDA).
She participates in different charities and organizations. She is the founder of Children of Our Future Inc a mentorship program. The purpose of the program is to inspire children, families, and the community. Together with her husband, she has been a producer and sponsor for many events like helping out needy children during the holidays via “Annual Christmas With Pierce & Children of Our Future” and serving meals during Thanksgiving to the underprivileged people of New England. She also has family that works in the military showing support to American soldiers by helping in the organization of “Paul Pierce Presents Home Strong Celebrity Gala” and the “Welcome Home” Veteran’s Day Ceremony in Boston. Together with Safe Space Organization, the Boston Police Department, and the Boston Celtics, she was a co-sponsor in the 4th Annual Domestic Violence Awareness Walk and Expo to bring awareness and put an end to domestic violence in her neighboring community.
She formed and was the host of the 2013 “Today I Can” Mother’s Day Brunch. The event treated the local expectant and new mothers to gifts and baby stuff. She has also been the chairperson for the Dress For Success Gala, providing professional clothing and career development to unemployed women in New England. She also encourages #RandomActsofKindness on her social media pages.
