Kate Keltie is an Australian child actress recognized for portraying the character Michelle Scully in the Australian soap opera, Neighbours. The former actress became part of the soap opera Neighbours at the age of 13. She took the role of Michelle Scully playing the younger sister of Holly Valance’s character Felicity. She was part of the soap opera for five years from 1999 to 2004.
Kate was born in Melbourne. At a young age, she was featured in television commercials, drama, voice training and dancing. When she turned eight, she debuted in the police drama, Blue Heelers and appeared in the drama two consecutive times. In the children’s sci-fi drama Thunderstone (1999-2000), she portrayed the character Becky Daniels. She also appeared in Full Frontal, Halifax f.p and then episodes of an English language show for ABC.
Kate joined Neighbours in 1999 as Michelle Scully while still a student. She was assisted by an on-set tutor in her studies. She became the creator and organizer of The Showbiz and Entertainment Expo which took place at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre in 2002. In 2003, she left Neighbours and went back to school to continue with her studies and new roles. In 2004, she made a cameo appearance in the soap opera the departed. When she left Neighbours in 2003, she thought she would not make a comeback in the series however, she stated that she loved her character’s return storyline. She took the role of Bec Cleary in Blue Heelers in 2004.
Afterwards, she joined a law firm and worked in legal support before relocating to the recruitment-support industry. She joined people2people, a recruitment firm, in July 2017 as a consultant where she specialized in permanent recruitment.

In November 2022, it was confirmed that Kate was diagnosed with aggressive breast cancer at its fourth stage. She was informed that the ailment had spread to several parts of her body. A GoFundMe page has since been set up with a goal of $25,000AUD (£13.8k) to cover essential costs throughout her chemotherapy treatment.
On the page, the organiser Ebony Gilbert shared: “Our beautiful Kate is going through the unimaginable.
“She was recently diagnosed with Stage 4 Breast Cancer. Her cancer is extremely aggressive and it has spread to other parts of her body, including her lymph nodes, blood and hip bones (known as metastatic cancer).”
Sadly, Ebony confirmed that Katie had been informed by her Oncologist that working during her treatment was not an option.”
“She will lose her gorgeous hair and cannot carry children in the future. This is devastating news for anyone, let alone at the age of 36, with no family history of breast cancer,” she added.
To help battle the disease, Kate will undergo chemotherapy infusions every three weeks for the rest of her life, while potentially having surgery and radiotherapy too according to Mirror.
Kate also wrote on the page: “Hi everyone. I am so sorry I haven’t had a chance to thank you all personally yet- stay with me, I’ll get there! “I just wanted to say thank you, thank you, thank you for all of your support, and messages and phone calls. “It’s so amazing to know I have so many incredible people in my corner.”
She continued: “I’ve just got over COVID and I start my first round of chemotherapy tomorrow, and you really have no idea how my head space has changed going into it because of each and every one of you. “Thank you, from the bottom of my heart. Kate x.”
As her page continues to raise funds, many of her friends and fans took to social media to offer their support and messages to her. One wrote: “Don’t know of Kate Keltie professionally or personally, though I do know Cancer and the cost financially and emotionally. All the best Kate!”
