Leila Kenzle is an American therapist and a former actress, known for Identity (2003), White Oleander (2002), and Mad About You (1992) where she took up the role of Fran Devanow. Her big break came when she was cast as a stripper in the off-Broadway production of Tony n’ Tina’s Wedding. Prior to her television appearances, she worked as a waitress before garnering small roles in various television sitcoms after moving to Los Angeles in 1989. Her television credits include appearances on The Golden Girls, Diagnosis Murder, Thirtysomething, and The Cosby Show. Her final role to date was in the 2003 movie Identity.
When Mad About You came to an end, she studied and obtained a master’s degree in clinical psychology and is a marriage and family therapist practicing in Los Angeles. Her specialty is fertility therapy and adult psychotherapy, and she and Kerry O’Reilly founded “Fertility L.A.,” a counseling program for people who are struggling with fertility issues. She studied theater at Rutgers University but lost her interest in acting soon after finishing school. However, she finally found her way back to the stage, moving to New York and working off-Broadway. She earned her Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology from Rutgers University, and she currently works as a therapist.
