He died tragically following a three-year battle with opioid addiction. His mother, Marlyse Williams has said she hopes her son’s story will help raise awareness of addiction and prevent some other mother from experiencing the same kind of pain.
Marlyse said she and her family were “absolutely devastated,” telling The New York Post that Logan had struggled with addiction for three years.
She said she discovered her son was using marijuana at age 13, and that he eventually progressed into harder drugs. Marlyse said she did not know for sure when he began using fentanyl, a synthetic opioid pain reliever that creates a “heroin-like effect” on the body, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Logan “was in complete denial because he was so ashamed,” of his addiction, Marlyse said, adding that he had been living in a group home after spending a month in a facility in British Columbia in 2019.
According to the report, Williams “struggled with mental health concerns and had a history of consuming illicit substances. In 2019 he came into the care of the Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD).” “On the evening of April 1, 2020, Logan left the residence and was reported as missing to the police. When he returned to the placement at approximately 2300 hours, he appeared agitated and under the influence of a substance,” the report states. “Logan last spoke with staff at approximately 0400 hours on April 2, 2020. Staff reported that they conducted hourly checks on Logan, and he appeared to be sleeping. When staff attempted to wake Logan at approximately 0930 hours, he was unresponsive and not breathing. When paramedics arrived, they did not attempt resuscitation as it was apparent that Logan was deceased. Drug paraphernalia was located near to Logan’s body.”

According to The Coroners Service of British Columbia report, the teen actor died from a fentanyl overdose. The official cause of death is listed as “acute drug toxicity” by means of “unintentional illicit drug toxicity (fentanyl).” It was classified as “accidental.”
