Lynette Forday is a pilates instructor, motivational speaker, and actress known for Go Girls (2009), Shortland Street (1992), and Toy Love (2002). She is a castaway in Celebrity Treasure Island 2022. The show premiered on September 5, 2022, and the winner will receive NZ$100,000 for the charity of their choice. Celebrity Treasure Island is aired on TVNZ 2 and TVNZ+ from Monday to Wednesday at 7:30 pm. Her aim is to win $100,000 for her charity, Sticks ‘n’ Stones, which runs courses for children and teenagers to help them feel strong and accepted and to make bullying a thing of the past.

She received a Bachelor of Arts at the Queensland University of Technology and trained in acting at Australia’s National Institute of Dramatic Arts in Sydney in the 1990s. Afterward, she entered the acting scene in New Zealand television becoming one of the first Asian actors to land a lead role on a primetime show with her role as Dr. Grace Kwan on the long-running hospital soap Shortland Street. She quickly gained national attention and soon became a household name in New Zealand, later starring as the lead in the drama series Ride with the Devil. Other screen credits include the television series 800 Words and The Brokenwood Mysteries, along with the feature film Film 3. Outside of acting, Lynette has worked as a reporter, journalist, and writer.
She is also a former professional ballet dancer. She has stated that she struggled to accept the shape of her ballerina’s body, seeing her slender form as chubby. Since then, working out and staying physically strong has been a lifelong focus.
“I used to be a gym junkie, as in I went every day, but since Covid, I have become a pavement junkie. I walk every day for hours. I’ve become the Forrest Gump of Ponsonby,” she says.
She says she loves anything crazy and exciting so she threw herself into the show, but crash-landed when it came to the infamous puzzle challenges.
