Mark Gwynne is an English investment manager, project and portfolio manager at Polygon Investment Management Firm since August 2007. He is also known for being the husband of Emily Maitlis, a British journalist, documentary filmmaker, and newsreader for the BBC. She is the lead anchor of BBC Two’s news and current affairs program Newsnight, and also covers elections for the BBC in the UK, the US, and Europe.
Prior to working at Polygon, from 1996 to 1999, he worked in Hong Kong. At the time, he worked for capital markets and investment group company CLSA. From September 1999 to May 2007, he worked for Merrill Lynch an American investment banking division of the bank of America. While there, he worked in the equity capital markets department.
He went to study at Shrewsbury School in Shrewsbury Shropshire from 1980 to 1985. He then proceeded to Peterhouse College at the University of Cambridge in 1985 and completed his college studies in 1988. He later graduated with a master of arts degree in History. From 1988 to 1990, he attended the Chancery Lane Law School in London.
