Paige Wainui is a New Zealand cosmetic nurse and the widow of Sean Wainui who was a New Zealand rugby union player. He played in the center (and occasionally wing) position for the provincial side Bay of Plenty, the Chiefs in Super Rugby, and for New Zealand’s Māori international side the Māori All Blacks. He died on October 18, 2021, after a car crash at the age of 25.
He represented New Zealand on the world stage after playing for the Champion New Zealand team in the Under 20 Rugby World Cup in Italy. The team played England for the title, winning 21–16. At the age of 19, Wainui was called up to the New Zealand U-20 team in 2015, making 4 appearances.

Her husband died in a car accident on October 18, 2021. He was 25 years old. The car he was driving crashed into a tree near Tauranga. Police were alerted to the single-vehicle crash around 7.50 am at McLaren Falls Park, near Tauranga. The sole occupant of the vehicle died at the scene, a police statement said.
She shared a picture and message hours after her husband’s death in a car accident. She wrote on her Instagram story, “I’m broken. I’m right here, baby. Always and forever.”
