Zach Horwitz whose initial birth name is Zachary Joseph Horwitz an American actor as well as a convicted criminal. He goes by his stage name Zach Avery. In April 2021, Avery was arrested on charges of defrauding investors of $227 million through a Ponzi scheme. On Monday, February 14, 2022, he was sentenced to 20 years in federal prison. Horwitz was arrested on charges of wire fraud (18 U.S.C. ยง 1343) on April 5, 2021, in connection with the alleged orchestration of a $650 million Ponzi scheme that started in 2015, defrauding investors of over $227 million based on false claims (contracts) that investor money would be used to acquire licensing rights to films HBO and Netflix had agreed to distribute abroad, particularly in Latin America. On October 4, 2021, he pleaded guilty to one count of securities fraud. On February 14, 2022, Horwitz was sentenced to 20 years in federal prison and ordered to pay $230 million in restitution.
Earlier in his career, he has had the role of co-founder along with the Hallivis brothers in the creation of 1inMM Productions company in 2013 which produced, acquired, and distributed content to mainstream audiences. Besides that, he is also a co-founder of One Key Entertainment.
His first appearance on screen was in the 2009 film G.E.D. He also appeared as an SS medic in an uncredited role in the movie Fury which was released in 2014. In 2018, he was the main actor in Hell Is Where the Home Is (also known as Trespassers) and was also cast in a small role in the Rudolf Nureyev biopic The White Crow. He was cast in Last Moment of Clarity together with Samara Weaving, Carly Chaikin, and Brian Cox. He received a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Indiana University.
